Kirkstall Abbey Comedy Festival

What is Live at Kirkstall Abbey?

Live at Kirkstall Abbey is a series of live music events taking place within the grounds of Kirkstall Abbey.  Please note, all events are standing events and seating will not be provided or permitted into the venue.
 

When are the events taking place?

Live at Kirkstall Abbey will take place 25th-28th July 2024.
 

What are the age restrictions?

Live at Kirkstall Abbey is a 14+ event.  Children under 14 years of age (aged 5-13) must be always accompanied by a parent or guardian (18 or over) and will need to purchase a full-price ticket.  Children under 5 are not permitted.   Live at Kirkstall Abbey does not accept any parental or supervisory duty of care of liability for any under 18’s on-site.
A check 25 age verification policy will be in operation for the sale or supply of alcohol. The Promoters reserve the right to refuse to serve alcohol to those that are intoxicated, or are likely to become intoxicated if further alcohol is served

 

What is the postcode pre-sale?

Residents with postcodes LS4, LS5, LS13, LS18 are entitled to an exclusive 48-hour pre-sale ahead of tickets being released on general sale.

Customers with elegible post-code prefixes must enter their post-code when prompted, this must match the billing/postal address.

What items are prohibited?

Your safety at Kirkstall Abbey is paramount and we continuously liaise with the appropriate authorities to ensure robust security measures are in place.  In order to ensure this is a safe environment mandatory bag searches will be carried out and we may search you, your clothing or other items.

Several items are prohibited, these include but are not exhausted to:

·      Glass,

·      Alcohol,

·      Food & Drink – should you need to bring an item of food or drink with you due to medical or religious requirements, please contact the event organiser prior to arrival.

·      Large, professional cameras,

·      Recording equipment,

·      Chairs & foldout blankets,

·      Large sports umbrellas

·      Bags larger than A3 size (30cm x 42cm x 19cm)

Can I bring in a refillable water bottle?

Yes, refillable water bottles are permitted but they must be empty upon arrival. 
1 x 500ml unopened plastic bottle of water are also permitted.

 

Can I leave once I have entered?

No, pass-outs are not permitted.  Once you have left the site there will be no re-entry.

What time is last entry?

Last entry will be 15 minutes after the headliner takes to the stage.  Full stage times are released closer to the event.

What if it rains?

Live at Kirkstall Abbey is an open-air event, please plan for the weather.  Small personal umbrellas are permitted but large golf umbrellas are not. 

Is Live at Kirkstall Abbey Accessible by public transport? 
Kirkstall Abbey has 2 local train stations nearby; Kirkstall Forge is located approximately 1.3 miles from Kirkstall Abbey and Headingley Station is approximately 0.7 miles. For train times and routes please visit - http://nationalrail.co.uk

I am an access customer do you offer personal assistant tickets?

Live at Kirkstall Abbey automatically issues a complimentary companion ticket for customers with disabilities and/or with access requirements (proof of disability will be required).  All access tickets have a limited capacity and are available to purchase via the ‘Tickets’ tab.
 

Will there be a viewing platform available?

There will be an accessible viewing platform which is prioritised for wheelchair or mobility scooter users and their companions.  There will also be accessible toilet facilities available in this area.  To access these facilities please purchase an ‘Accessible Seated Area’ tickets from the ‘tickets’ tab.  Please note these are subject to availably and a proof of disability will be required. This seating area is uncovered so please plan appropriately for the weather.

What do I do if I cannot stand for a long period of time?

A space for people who prefer to stand but may need a less crowded area, and/or a chair will be available for those who need them.  There will also be accessible toilet facilities in this area.  To gain access to this area please purchase an ‘Accessible Ticket’ from the ‘ticket’ tab.  Please note these are subject to availability and proof of disability will be required.  There is no viewing platform in this area.  
 

Can I bring my own chair into the event?

No, customers are not permitted to bring their own chairs into the event.
 

Will there be disabled toilets available?

Yes, disabled toilets will be on site.
 

Will there be Blue Badge parking available?

There is limited Blue Badge parking available.  Further information on where to park will be emailed out to ticket holders prior the event.

Please note, Live at Kirkstall Abbey is an outdoor greenfield site.  Attendees may need to travel across grassy terrain to access the viewing platforms and other areas of the event.  Should we experience rain in the run-up to the events or on the day of events the terrain could become muddy and harder to navigate, please come prepared for such conditions.
