West Yorkshire indie rock icons The Cribs have announced a massive headline show at Leeds’ Millennium Square on Saturday 11th July to celebrate the release of ‘A Point Too Hard To Make’, the second single from their  forthcoming ninth album and first new full length in over five years, Selling A Vibe.

This newly announced Millennium Square show is another milestone for the award-winning alternative three piece, landing almost 10 years to the day since they last graced the very same stage alongside a huge supporting line-up that included Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore. Drawing fans from as far afield as Spain, America and Japan, the band themselves declared it the best gig of their career and are gearing up to top it when they return to Millennium Square next summer.

New single ‘A Point Too Hard To Make’ finds The Cribs’ classic call-and-response dual vocals take on new significance as the brothers reflect on their enduring relationship through so many years of excess, excitement and escape. Whatever comes their way next, they’ll take it on together.

Set for release on January 9th, Selling A Vibe finds Gary, Ryan and Ross Jarman rekindling their creative relationship as brothers, not just bandmates, away from the release-tour-release-tour treadmill and poking characteristic skeptical fun at a world ever more obsessed with quantity over quality and style over substance. Having worn their hearts on their sleeves by imbuing perfect pop melodies with the uncompromising honesty of their guitar-bass-drums power trio set up for over 20 years, The Cribs only release music when it feels like they have something new and real to offer. In this case, the renewal of treasured relationships seems as good a reason as any for their return after a five-year absence.

Gary Jarman, The Cribs said:

“As if it’s been ten years since the last Millennium Square show. We’ve all done a lot of growing since and it’ll be good to catch up with all of our friends and family in Leeds. It’s an incredibly important place to us as a band and we can’t wait to see you there. We’re excited to play some new songs and plenty of old ones too!”
